Focus Plan

The Every Student Succeeds Act which was signed into law on December 10, 2015 required that the ESEA Flexibility Waiver ended on August 1, 2016 and that states either reset or freeze its list of schools that were identified as focus or priority under the ESEA Flexibility Waiver. Mississippi received approval from the United States Department of Education in March of 2017 to refresh the list of schools that would be identified as Focus and Priority.

The purpose of this letter is to describe the educational opportunities made possible as a result of the identification.
